It was the case that shook Oklahoma City in 1977.3 girls, aged 8, 9 and 10, were brutally beaten and murdered during the early morning hours at Camp Scott in Locust Grove.
After the beating all 3 girls were raped and their bodies were placed in their sleeping bags and arranged on 2 different trails so that they would definitely be discovered.
The only suspect in the case was one Gene Leroy Hart, a Native American who had escaped from jail almost 10 years earlier. When he was found, he had been staying in a rundown cabin in the woods, not far from Camp Scott. After the incident, the Magic Council for Girl Scouts closed the gates on Camp Scott and never reopened it. It had been in use for over 50 years.
